Yesterday I was invited to lunch buffet at Tierra Nuestra on M.M Alam road along with 8 other bloggers. Blogger food review meet-ups and free food doesn’t mean I won’t be fair with the review. As I have been there twice already and had a good experience.
So this was the lunch buffet menu
- Salads (3-4 types including Humus)
- Vegetable rice
- Chicken chili oyster sauce
- Grilled Tarragon Chicken
- Grilled Fish Caper butter
- Baked Sea Food
- Hunan Black Pepper Fish
- Oven Baked Florteen Chicken
- Penne Pasta Creamy Sauce
- Beef Chili Dry
- Beef Chili Garlic Noodles
- Mashed Potato
- Sautéed Vegetables
- Desserts (many options of one bite cakes, pudding and mousse with strawberry sauce)
- Drinks (plenty to choose from only they are excluded from buffet price)
Soup and Salads always go with any weather
Started with hot & sour soup which was nice given it had a good amount of black pepper and vegetables according to my taste.
All liked most of the salads along with humus. I did not try any salad as most of them had raw onion and a big NO NO for me but all of them were fresh. I did suggest the team if they can add salad bowls without onion for lunch buffet as no one can afford having a bad breath during the day, which they happily accepted.
The best of the buffet is always main entrée
So I went directly to the main dishes, which you can see in pictures most of it was yummy.
I tried all three seafood entrées, big fan of seafood and they were the best. If you are looking for a healthy option then they have Grilled Fish Caper Butter, be cautious it has garlic on top for garnishing, just in-case you can’t stand it but it well cooked, soft and lite on your stomach. Baked seafood had creamy sauce with chunks of fish and shrimps well-baked keeping salt balanced. Hunan black pepper fish was soft fish inside with a balanced spiced crust along spread over a flavorful sauce.
In red meat tried beef chilli dry which was a total miss except for the meat because it tasted like simple beef curry though good so maybe they need to change the name or the recipe altogether. Oh and I just realized that they only had one red meat entrée in whole buffet. But the team mentioned they are working on their menu so you might see few new additions soon.
Rest of my fellows tried chicken entrées and we rated them third on the menu. Oven baked Flroteen Chicken and Chicken Chilli Oyster sauce was on top in Chicken category. The biggest miss was Grilled Tarragon Chicken. It was bland and tasted as if they used pasta sauce and not tarragon sauce.
Lastly as I am cutting out sugar from my regular diet for few weeks so I did not touch desserts but took feedback which came as good because of balanced sugar and freshness as one bite cake were soft to touch and had many verities. Drinks served looked tempting and were refreshing.
Why you should try this?
Overall experience was hearty because of the generous amount of seafood I had and they had nice trendy music on play, not irritatingly loud as many of the cafes to give you headache. Interior is lovely, staff was courteous and service was quick including refills.
The price is PKR 925/- + tax drinks not included, which is average according to the market.
Overall, I would rate my experience 7/10 because of the two misses and very limited red meat entrées.
Enjoy the pictures 🙂
