There cannot be enough emphasis on the need to promote renewable energy as a sustainable solution to all the energy related problems of Pakistan. Alas! Many in the renewable energy sector fail to provide the required awareness. However, a breath of fresh air came in as we got an invite to a bloggers meet-up organized by a renowned renewable energy company called Premier Energy. Premier Group belongs to Glasgow Scotland and has presence in six different countries across the globe. In Pakistan the Group is into diverse businesses including Energy, Real Estate, Agriculture and Housewares.
The Group is run by the Mobarik family; a Pakistani Scottish Family and Mr. Usman Mobarik heads the company in Pakistan as the Director. His futuristic approach towards energy conservation and climate change lead him to introduce Premier Energy in Pakistan. Under his leadership the company today has been marked by Asian Telegraph as one of the fastest growing renewable energy companies of Pakistan.
The theme of the said meet-up was to join Premier in the battle against climate change. Undoubtedly Pakistan is one of the countries that are worst affected by global warming since we are dependent on glaciers as our major in source of clean water.
Having said that Premier Energy’s Country Head Mr. Daniyal Siddiqui introduced Premier’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Audit Program (EECAP) under which their team consisting of Premier’s energy experts conduct a 4 steps based comprehensive energy survey. He also narrated how Premier Energy is arguably one of the only companies to have believed in Purpose before profit and have launched various programs, initiatives and conferences aimed at promoting the use of renewable energy and switching to the most sustainable form of energy.
Under the company’s program called; “Empowering the Industries” Premier is dedicated to transform the energy consumption patterns followed by industries through the provision of a clean, reliable and resilient energy system. In fact, the installation of Textile Sector’s largest and second largest solar power plant has successfully been installed by Premier under the same program. Not only this but one of the education sector of Pakistan’s largest solar power plant at University of Central Punjab has been installed under Premier’s “Illuminating Lives” program specially designed to cater to the energy needs of the education sector.
Following the vision to combat climate change which by the way was also the official hashtag of the event: #CombatClimateChange, Mr. Siddiqui also briefed regarding Premier being a paperless organization operating through an integrated enterprise resource planning software SAP B1.
Addressing the town’s top notch bloggers Mr. Siddiqui explained how Net Metering technology has changed the game of solar business altogether as now people see solar as an investment and not just an expense. I mean imagine how cool it would be SELL excess electricity back to the Grid through a bi-way meter!! Not only does Team Premier take the entire responsibility of getting the meter installed, but they also make sure you understand the technology and are able to see the units exported and imported and the resultant savings on your monthly electricity bills.
Premier Energy’s CMO; Ms Haania Ali came in to introduce a CSR initiative taken by the Group with the name of Green Birgade; a community of eminent personalities belonging to all different walks of life who believe in the power of Green Energy and support the cause. The Green Brigade aims at increasing awareness and promoting the use of renewable energy resources. Business Tycoons like Khawaja Anees, Malik Waqar, Faisal Amin, Irfan Qadri and political personalities like Minister for Health; Dr. Yasmeen Rashid have already joined the Brigade. The bloggers community readily joined the Green Brigade and gave a huge shout out to the cause of combating climate change.
Director Premier Energy; Mr. Usman Mobarik thanked the bloggers community for their belief in the cause and hoped to continue illuminating lives through renewable energy.
As a turnkey solution provider, Premier Energy today marks a presence in more than 29 cities across Pakistan with successful installations in both public and private sector. The well planned meet-up was followed by a set of exciting activities and a scrumptious Hi-tea at X2 Café Lahore. We are glad we played our role in co building a greener tomorrow for generations to come.
